Model Highlights

Volvo has earned a reputation as a builder of safe, luxurious and dependable cars and the S90 is furthers that tradition. Three trims are offered on the S90 -- S90 Momentum, S90 Inscription and R-Design though all three, as well as the V90 Cross Country are powered by a 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged engine. The combination is good for 295 horsepower and 310 lb-feet, with virtually no turbo lag and strong output across the rev range. All S90s and V90s utilize an 8-speed automatic transmission, and all are equipped with ECO+ automatic stop/start functionality. Selectable drive modes include Comfort, Eco, Dynamic, Off Road and Individual, and allow drivers to customize responsiveness of the, transmission and optional air suspension to the road conditions or even their whimsy. Momentum models are only available in S90 sedan configuration and offer 18-inch alloy wheels, a dual exhaust, leather trim, aluminum sills, heated power adjustable front seating with 2-way lumbar support, dual-zone electronic climate control, a power sunroof, adaptive cruise control, park assist, a 9-inch infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite radio. Inscription models are available as the S90 are offered with 19-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights and "Thor's Hammer" running lights with headlight washers. Upgrades inside include soft Napa leather with heated and cooled front seats, walnut inlays, four-zone climate control and a Harmon Kardon Audio system. Volvo have bumped up the sportiness quotient with the R-design, with the car looking and feeling a bit sportier than other versions of the S90. It gets blacked out exterior chrome, a new front fascia as well as a few changes around the rear bumper. Under the skin, the suspension has been tweaked just a little bit to provide better handling without sacrificing the luxurious ride the S90 is known for. The Volvo V90 Cross Country is only available in one well-equipped trim with the biggest difference being the suspension, with the Cross Country offering far more ground clearance and a suspension setup that should be able to deal better with some light off-roading. Notable standard equipment on the V90 Cross Country include power folding heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lights, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a satellite radio with 10-speakers, a navigation system, and a 9-inch touchscreen. Safety has not been overlooked in the newest Volvo. In addition to anti-lock braking and stability and traction controls, a suite of air bags surrounds the cabin. Advanced standard safety features include front collision mitigation with emergency braking, lane keeping assist, pedestrian/cyclist/animal detection and OnCall telematics, which can remotely unlock or start the car and notify first responders in an emergency. Additionally, Pilot Assist pairs semi-autonomous self-steering, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
